FOCUSED ON FAMILY LAW & YOU
Jonathan A. Diamond is a third-generation family law attorney at Diamond & Diamond, P.A., proudly continuing a legacy that began with his grandfather, Robert Diamond—the first-generation family law attorney in the family—and his father, Richard Diamond, the firm’s managing partner. For Jonathan, family law is far more than a career; it is a lifelong calling he has lived, breathed, and studied since childhood.
In fact, Jonathan famously (to his teacher’s dismay) declared his destiny in his 3rd-grade yearbook: While his classmates dreamed of becoming president or astronauts, he confidently wrote that he would grow up to be a family law attorney—just like his dad and grandpa. That early clarity has defined his path ever since.
Growing up around the firm, Jonathan’s childhood was a deliberate balance of academics, sports, and immersion in family law. Sports have always been central to his life, instilling discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic that continue to shape his practice today.
A proud graduate of New Jersey public schools, Jonathan attended Bernards High School, where he thrived as a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and lacrosse. He earned 12 varsity letters, received All-State recognition, and was awarded a Division 1 lacrosse scholarship to the University of Vermont. In college, he balanced demanding academics and collegiate athletics while nurturing his passion for skiing—Stowe remains his favorite place to ski. He graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Business Administration in 2017.
Before law school, Jonathan gained practical experience in the finance industry. He then attended Widener University Commonwealth Law School, graduating cum laude. As a law student, he competed on the moot court team and earned a certificate in business advising. Crucially, Jonathan worked at Diamond & Diamond, P.A. throughout his legal education—beginning as a secretary, advancing to paralegal, and transitioning directly into his role as an associate attorney after passing the bar. Today, he practices exclusively in family law, handling divorce, child custody and parenting time disputes, alimony and child support, equitable distribution of assets, domestic violence, and related matters. Clients benefit from the rare insight that comes from someone who has been immersed in the practice his entire life.
Jonathan brings a powerful combination of traits to every case: The competitive drive and mental toughness forged through years of high-level athletics, and the deep empathy developed from a lifetime inside a family law firm. While some clients may initially hesitate to work with a younger attorney when facing divorce, domestic violence, or complex family disputes, Jonathan turns that into a distinct advantage—his youthful energy, relentless work ethic, and decades of direct family exposure deliver aggressive, thoughtful, and strategic advocacy tailored to each client’s unique goals.
At Diamond & Diamond, P.A., Jonathan continues the firm’s multi-generational commitment to guiding New Jersey families through difficult transitions with integrity, skill, and genuine care. Whether negotiating settlements or litigating in court—including appellate work—he fights hard for the results that matter most, while always keeping the human element at the center.
Jonathan is a proud husband and father to one human boy and two fur babies, Goose and Maverick.
